Maklaud Di-laoun

In the Chinese artistic tradition, not only form but also line is important. The art of calligraphy is fundamentally based on lines. A line creates a sensation of breath and movement.
In the new version of Di Lun, such a line has appeared — long whiskers, a characteristic element of Eastern dragon iconography. They add lightness to the image and create the feeling of wind through which the mythical creature moves.
In ancient depictions, dragons were distinguished by details: the shape of their horns, the number of claws, the length of their whiskers. Each feature revealed the creature’s age, origin, and power.
In Chinese folklore, a dragon’s whiskers are compared to those of a carp — a creature that, according to legend, can transform into a dragon by overcoming currents and waterfalls. Thus, long whiskers became a symbol of wisdom, age, and strength that has endured a journey.
In this way, whiskers became a mark of the mature dragon. That is why this detail has been introduced in the new version of Di Lun.
This small addition represents another step in the evolution of a legendary image.

Unique materials and artistic approach

Maklaud products are handmade from the sketch and prototype of the model to polishing and packaging, which explains their exclusivity and quality corresponding to works of art of small forms. The work uses classic, as well as alternative materials and technologies, which we constantly research and successfully master in our work.
