Maklaud Meteorras
A sculpture with a fragment of the Universe at its core.
Some stories don’t begin on Earth — and this is one of them.
In 1947, a brilliant streak ignited above Primorsky Krai.
A thunderous crack split the sky, and dozens of fragments of molten stone fell to the ground, leaving a scattering field that would later be traced on maps and documented in reports.
Decades later, we found and acquired ten authentic meteorite fragments — small pieces of cosmic matter that had traveled millions of kilometers. Each one has verified origin and comes with certification.
Now they are embedded in the body of the object we created — Meteorras, as if they had finally found the form they were destined for, the form they had long been searching for on Earth.
These «cosmic stones» carry the evidence of an encounter with something far beyond human experience and understanding.
The surface of Meteorras resembles an exotic extraterrestrial script or fragments of the unfamiliar terrain of a cosmic body — its crust, its shell, or its ancient structure. Heavy stone-like lines and deep contours form a pattern that evokes the sensation of the unknown gathered into a single shape.
At the center of the form lies a window — a small viewing circle that reveals a real meteorite fragment. It appears still, but its presence turns the sculpture into a vessel of a history older than any technology created on Earth.
The tray bears a map of the meteorite fall — a reminder of where this material came from and the immense distances each stone traveled before becoming part of this creation.
Meteorras is a rare moment where two worlds meet: the one that once traveled between the stars, and the one shaped by human hands here on Earth.
Unique materials and artistic approach
Maklaud products are handmade from the sketch and prototype of the model to polishing and packaging, which explains their exclusivity and quality corresponding to works of art of small forms. The work uses classic, as well as alternative materials and technologies, which we constantly research and successfully master in our work.
