Maklaud Gorun
Rising from the depths of the Ural land comes GORUN — Ural Collection: Myths & History.
A sculpture inspired by the majesty of the shikhans — ancient stone giants that embody the primal power of mountains. These mighty forms stand like timeless guardians over the Ural landscape, having inspired craftsmen and storytellers for generations.
GORUN represents the spirit of a mountain golem — a guardian of minerals and ore veins, a symbol of strength and a connection to the eternal force of nature. Its form resembles frozen tectonic plates, with each facet echoing the tales of Bazhov, where stone breathes and metal sings its underground songs.
GORUN is more than a tribute to folklore; it is an homage to the artistry of Ural stone carvers; whose hands awaken the stone and transform it into art. It’s still and powerful presence reflects the soul of the Urals — harsh and beautiful, holding eternal stories that speak to us through stone.
Unique materials and artistic approach
Maklaud products are handmade from the sketch and prototype of the model to polishing and packaging, which explains their exclusivity and quality corresponding to works of art of small forms. The work uses classic, as well as alternative materials and technologies, which we constantly research and successfully master in our work.
