Jiaolong — The Hornless Dragon of the Waters
Jiaolong is a young dragon whose true greatness still lies ahead. He has yet to grow the horns of a celestial ruler, yet he already possesses immense strength, speed, and determination. His realm is that of rushing rivers, deep pools, and roaring waterfalls — the places where every great dragon begins its journey.
Ancient legends tell that only by overcoming the greatest trials and ascending against the current can a young dragon rise to the heavens and attain its final form. This is why Jiaolong became a symbol of growth, inner strength, and self-transcendence. It is no coincidence that the famous legend of the carp leaping over the Dragon Gate closely echoes this image: transformation is granted only to those who dare to challenge the current.
— The sculpture captures the moment of powerful ascent. The dragon’s entire body stretches upward, as if it has just burst from a turbulent river and continues its unstoppable rise.
— Unlike its elder counterparts, Jiaolong has no horns. Its silhouette is slender and serpentine, while its fine scales and webbed claws emphasize its deep connection to the element of water.
— The base of the sculpture evokes the surface of crashing water from which movement is born. Flowing currents seem to propel the dragon toward its destiny, turning the entire composition into a symbol of constant growth and transformation.
Jiaolong has not yet reached the summit of his journey. But it is precisely in this moment — between the depths of the river and the heavens — that his greatest strength is found. After all, every great dragon once made its very first leap.
